Note
|
Like their brother Louis, both Ben and brother Fritz attended Columbia College, although unlike Louis, neither graduated. Also like Louis, they both joined Phi Gamma Delta. In 1932 Ben served on a committee to supervise the annual song fest, which required freshmen to sing the pep songs sung at football games. In 1933, Ben was elected president of the fraternity and in 1934 he became the class vice president. Also in 1935 he represented the fraternity in the second Columbia Conference Against War.
