Gobrecht, 86, Hanover RD 2, a member of Hanover'swell known musical Gobrecht family, died Sunday at 1:30 a.m. at theHanover General Hospital. Born in Union Twp., Adams County, he was a sonof the late john A. and Emma Stonesifer Gobrecht. He was a farmer for 40years prior to his retirement. He held the title as Pennsylvania'smaster tomato grower for three years. Gobrecht was a member of St.Bartholomew's United Church of Christ and served on the church cemeteryboard. He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Sunday school for more than50 years and was a past Sunday school teacher. He was a past directorand member of the church choir, was a pastor director of St. Paul's UCC(Dubs) choir and was a past president and member of the St. Bartholomew'sconsistory. He was present director of St. Bartholomew's and St. Paul'sorchestras. A base horn player, he had been a member of the CarrollCounty Reed Bank, the K of P band, Hanover, York City Band, Hanover MooseBand and had played with the old Hanover boys Club band. He was a memberof the Gobrecht Brothers Band and at one time had appeared with othermusical organizations. He belonged to the Friendship Fire Co.,Pennville; Pleasant Hill fire co., POS of A Lodge 140, Pleasant Hill.His first wife, Edna M. Utz Gobrecht, died in 1924 and his second wife,Espenieta (Wentz) Wentz Gobrecht, died in September, 1980. Surviving aretwo sons, Lester L. Gobrecht, Hanover RD 2, and Harold G. Gobrecht,Hanover RD 7; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Carlyn) Wilson, 502 FrederickSt., and Mrs. Gerald (Evelyn) Raubenstine, Hanover RD 2; two step-sons,Wardon L. Wentz, 519 Moul Wardon L. Wentz, 519 Moul Ave., and Gerald M.Wentz, 927 S. Franklin St.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Richard (Geneva)Rohrbaugh, 29 Grant Drive, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 14great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, three brothers, EmoryA. Gobrecht, 27 W. Chestnut St.; Edward Gobrecht, 107 N. Franklin St.,and Joseph Gobrecht, 202 Diller Road, and three sisters, Mrs. DellaReigle, 243 W. Chestnut St.; Mrs. Emma S.
