[Leppo.FTW] [William Grobrecht Descendants.FTW] Obituary--The Evening Sun, Wednesday, April 18, 1984--Emory A.Gobrecht--Emory A. Gobrecht, 27 W. Chestnut St., died at his home Tuesdaymorning, April 17, 1984. He was 88. Born in Union Township, Adamscounty, he was the son of the late John A. and Emma Stonesifer Gobrecht.He was the husband of the late Ada M. Schrivert Gobrecht, who died Oct.31, 1961. A member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Gobrecht wasemployed by the Hanover Shoe Inc., for 62 years. He served as a sergeantin the Army during World War I and was a bugler. An area musician,Gobrecht directed the Trinity Sunday School Orchestra for over 50 yearsand served as a director for the American Legion Post 14 Drum and Buglecorps for a number of years. He was a member of the PennsylvaniaBandmasters and composed music. He also wrote a series of bookletsentitled "Home Span Philosophy." Gobrecht was a member of the AmericanLegion, Post 14; the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 227; and the HanoverArea Historical Society. Surviving are two brothers, Edward J. Gobrecht,107 E. N. Franklin St.; and Joseph C. Grobrecht, 202 Diller road; threesisters, Della Reigle, West Chestnut Street; Emma Wisensale, 315 W.Chestnut Street; and Mrs. Walter L. (Edna) Sterner, Frederick Street.The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Panebaker FuneralHome, 311 Broadway. The Rev. Carroll C. Luckenbaugh, pastor at Trinity,will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearerswill be Mr. Gobrecht's nephews: Lewis Gobrecht, Wilbur Gobrecht, EdwardJ. Gobrecht Jr., Edward J. Gobrecht III, William H. Gobrecht, LesterGobrecht, Dr. William Seibert, and Donald Sterner. Friends may call atthe funeral home Thursday evening.
