Peter Bankert was a son of Jacob Bankert Jr. and the grandson of Jacob Bankert Sr. who was the only son of Christophel and Anna Eva Banckert. Peter and Elizabeth lived about a half mile west of St Mary's Church in Silver Run, and also about a half mile from what was known in those days as Warner's Tavern.
