"Major" King, an owner of four auto dealerships, died of pneumonia March 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The Davidsonville resident, who lived in Catonsville for many years, was 68. Born in Boonsboro and raised in the Rockdale section of Baltimore County, he was a 1955 Milford Mill High School graduate. He was a used-car salesman for A.D. Anderson on Edmondson Avenue before joining the Army. After leaving military service, he became a new-car salesman and used-car manager. In 1971 he joined Ourisman Chevrolet in Marlow Heights. Mr. King went on to became a partner and co-owner of Ourisman Dodge in Alexandria, Va., Ourisman World of Ford, also in Alexandria, Ourisman Fairfax Toyota and Ourisman Chantilly Toyota in 2002. He was active in his industry as a member and leader on national dealer councils for both Chrysler and Suzuki. He was chairman of Ford's Dealer Advertising Fund in Washington. Services were held Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Davidsonville where he was a member. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, the former Fay Dawn Hett; three daughters, Cynthia Skiles of Alexandria, Lou Anne King of Chevy Chase and Leanne R. Richards of Davidsonville; one brother, John B. King of Timonium; one sister, Carroll Arconti of Towson; and five grandchildren. His marriage to the former Barbara Eitemiller Linder ended in divorce.

Charles R. "Major" King, an owner of four auto dealerships, died of pneumonia March 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The Davidsonville resident, who lived in Catonsville for many years, was 68.
