[Leppo.FTW] Article--(written in date) July 6, 1979--Leppos Celebrate 50thAnniversary-- A 50th wedding anniversary surprise party was given by thechildren of Hilda Markle Leppo and William Kump Leppo Sr. on Sunday, June10, at the North Carroll Rod and Gun Club. Mr. and Mrs. Leppo live at3232 Murkle Road in Westminster. William is the son of the late David H.and Addie Warehime Leppo. Hilda is the daughter of the late Raymond andMary Belle Gobrecht Markle. The couple were married June 19, 1929 by thelate Rev. Chalres Rebert at the parsonage near Westminster. The eventwas arranged by their seven children: William K. Leppo, Jr. ofWestminster, Mrs. Ethel Meyer of Beirut, Lebanon, Mrs. Ruth Crist ofColumbia, Pa., Mrs. Evelyn Myers of Union Bridge, Mrs. Edna Mae Wasmer ofWestminster, Mrs. Shirley Mayer of Cross Keys, Pa., Emory E. Leppo ofWestminster, and their families. The couple have 15 grandchildren andtwo great-grandchildren. Refreshments were served to about 175relatives and friends.
