[Leppo.FTW] Obituary--(written in date) 12 Oct 1977--York-Adams Deaths--Howard W.Hess--Howard Wilson Leroy Hess, 75, of 506 S. Franklin St., died thismorning at Hanover General Hospital. Born in York County, he was a sonof the late Jacob Leroy and Clara Stambaugh Hess. He had been employedby Wisensale Plumbing for 25 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member ofSt. David's United church of Christ; Clark Zumbrum's Mens Sunday SchoolClass and AARP Chapter 669. Surviving are his wife, Pauline YinglingHess; two sons, Herman H. Mess, Pocatello, Idaho; Kenneth L. Hess,Mechanicsburg; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Henrietta) Brandenburg,Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; one step grandchild; two greatgrandchildren; one brother, Ivan Hess, 79 Geroge St.; and one sister,Mrs. Mabel Wentz, 782 1/2 Baltimore St. The funeral will be Saturday at10 a.m. at St. David's Church with the Rev. Andrew N. Horn officiating.Burial will be in St. David's Cemetery. Friends may call at the WetzelFuneral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Friday evening or at the church Saturdayfrom 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may bemade in his name to St. David's United Church of Christ Building Fund.
