Note
|
The 1820 US Census lists a Sarah Van Sicklin as head of household in Poughkeepsie, NY. The household included 3 males under 10, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 26-44, and 1 female over 45. This could be Sarah Van Sicklen (1769-1846), daughter of Jan Van Sicklen and Catalina Van Wyck Sicklen. There is no evidence that links this Sarah Van Sicklin to the Sarah Van Sickles who has been supposed to be the second wife of Thomas Lenington (1723-1754) after the death of Phoebe Southard Lenington. It is nonetheless an interesting possibility. Both Sarah Van Sicklen (1769-1846) and Abigail Lenington Thorne (1793-1870) were great-great-great-granddaughters of Theodorus van Wyck (1668-1753). Abigail Lenington Thorne was, in addition, the step-granddaughter of Sarah Van Sickles, who may have been the second wife of Thomas Lenington (1723-1754). |
