Refusing to take the oath of allegiance, he removed to Norwalk, Connecticut, in Sept., 1776; soon removed to headquarters of the army at Fishkill; served in quartermaster's department with rank of major, till the close of the war; returned to Huntington... Was member of state legislature 1776 to 1783. |
