Edwin Thorne was born on 20 Jan 1826 in Thorndale, Millbrook, Dutchess,
NY. He died on 25 Mar 1889. He entered business with his Father in
New York & continued with him for 14 years. In 1871 He bought Thorndale
from his Father for $75,000. It consisted of 537 acres. He spent
considerable time developing a herd of Jersey cattle & a stud of
trotting horses. Among these horses was a 3 year old named Thorndale.
He was buried under the white pine on the lawn by the front door.
The pine was planted by Edwin Thorne. He was married to Charlotte T. Pearsall (daughter of Thomas W. Pearsall
and Mary L. Leggett) on 6 May 1857 in TW Pearsall Home, NY. Charlotte
T. Pearsall was born on 3 Jan 1825. She died on 3 Jul 1867. Edwin
Thorne and Charlotte T. Pearsall had the following children: child1687 i. Thomas Pearsall Thorne was born on 26 Jul 1861. He died
in 1922.

1927.
