NYT, November 14, 1897, Wednesday, Page 10, 918 words: William Van Wyck and his wife, Lydia Maverick, had four sons and two daughters. The eldest, Samuel, became a physician. At the outbreak of the civil war he was appointed Surgeon of Col. N.B. Forest's regiment of Confederate calvalry. He was killed in battle.
