Richbell Mott the first born of the second wife, married in 1696, Elizabeth Thorne of Flushing. The marriage license in the New York record is dated the 14th October, 1696, and the name is written Rigebell Mott. He settled at Mad Nan's Neck (Little Neck), perhaps on the land mentioned in his father's will, and was a man of standing and force. His grandmother, Ann Richbell, in her will dated April 1700 makes "MR. Richbell Mott" one of her executors, the other two being Col. Caleb Heathcote and Lieut. John Horton. In 1708, in the division of the lower part of Cowneck, Richhell received a deed of a tract of land on the Sound on the west side of the entrance to Hempstead Harbor. The land is still in the family, the old Mott H
